A medal winning Italian classic

“One of Italy’s most famous wines, it has a really soft, broad and clove spice kick, which blends very well with the juicy black fruit flavours – really supple and easy drinking!”

Talamonti -Moda -Motepulciano de Abruzzo2014 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Moda Talamonti
“Talamonti is one of my favourite producers in Abruzzo in terms of value and price.  The style of winemaking is very consistent and readily offers great bang for your buck”  – Monica Larner, Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, 2015
Talmonti was founded in 2001 by the Di Tonno family, in a magnificent, unspoiled part of the Abruzzi.   Their vineyards are located close to the inland village of Loreto Aprutino, near Pescara, on the Adriatic coast and have expanded to 32 hectares in production.  In addition to the native Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo grapes, other varietals have also been planted.  Pecorino, for example was planted in 2004 as part of an estate experiment to study the ability of other varieties to adapt and express themselves.
A winner of  numerous prizes such as the 2013 International Wine & Spirit Competition where the 2013 vintage was awarded silver and the 2011 vintage silver, as well as a bronze medal in the 2014 International Wine Challenge.  It has also won good scores from various critics and is great value for money.
Delicious with Italian pasta dishes such as Lasagne, particularly when served with a rocket, spinach and watercress salad.
