Grapes are sourced from a number of growers throughout the Margaret River, an area of vineyards stretching over 100km north to south and nearly 50km across, dwarfing some of Australia’s more traditional regions such as the Barossa Valley. Wine production has taken off in the space of a few decades, the region rapidly ascending to become one of the most successful in the country.
The area benefits from a number of geographic advantages, from the proximity to the Ocean which moderates the otherwise arid, hot climate, to the local karri trees which protects vines from prevailing westerly winds.
60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc.
Grapes are received from various different parcels, fermented separately in stainless steel vats. Aged on the lees to add further depth and complexity before blending.
Drink now and over the next 18 months.
Brookland Valley is based in the Wilyabrup district, featuring some of the ‘oldest’ vineyards and wineries in Margaret River – the earliest founded in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Brookland Valley is one of the leading lights in the Margaret Valley region; the producers have previously been awarded “Winery of the Year” by James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion, as well as given a 5 star rating.
Their Verse 1 portfolio features wines which source fruit from across Margaret River, in order to capture the best characteristics of the region.
