From vineyards about 40km south of Troyes - in the Aube Valley. A slightly warmer area than the main Reims-Epernay region, grapes here achieve greater ripeness which leads to a richer fruit, producing the classic, baked biscuit flavours mixed with characteristic, toasty yeast overtones.
100% Pinot Noir.
Fermented in stainless steel, temperature controlled tanks, Gremillet age all their Rosé Champagnes for a minimum of 24 months.
Drink now and over the next 12 months.
Gremillet is a family owned estate of around 45 hectares; traditionally winegrowers, since the 18th century they have sold their grapes to other producers. However, since 1979 they have been making their own Champagne, with Anne Gremillet currently in charge of proceedings.
Mainly built to enjoy on its own, nicely chilled, but will work well with canapés - and also perhaps with a bowl of soft and berry red fruits.
