The Punto Final Cabernet Sauvignon comes from two separate vineyard sites in the prestigious Mendoza sub district of Luján de Cayo. Grapes are sourced from vines located at 1000 metres altitude on a mix of stony and loam based soils.
90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.
100% hand harvested winemaker, Pablo Profili cold soaks the juice and skins to extract colour and fruity aromas before a wild yeast ferment in stainless steel at cooler than normal temperatures (24⁰C). The wine then spends eight months in second fill French oak barrels to round out the tannins and integrate some gentle oak notes.
Drink now and over the next 2 years.
Renacer was founded in 2004 by Patricio Reich and is based in Perdriel in Luján de Cuyo. This wine was inspired following a visit by the Allegrini family (from Valpolicella) who saw both the potential of Mendoza and Bodegas Renacer to imitate the Amarone style - and therefore Enamore was first launched as a joint project.
The Estate runs a number of environmental initiatives to try and build sustainable production practices: Renacer is the first winery in Argentina to use solar energy, sources meltwater that naturally drains from the Andes and carefully monitors irrigation to ensure only the necessary amount of water is consumed.
Very good with old fashioned steak and kidney pie! Also mid week sausage, spring onion mash and mustard. Works nicely with a vegetable moussake.
Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
