Origin
This area is arguably as famous for the production of Armagnac Brandy, but has built a strong reputation for high quality white table wines, made for instant drinking and pleasure. This Domaine has 49 hectares under vine on clay and limestone soil, which is ideal for the varieties in the region.
Grape Variety
80% Colombard, 10% Gros Manseng and 10% Ugni Blanc.
Each varietal is processed separately until blending in January following the vintage. Previously, grapes were cold soaked, left on the lees for 7 days then cool fermented. The wine is bottled early - the first wines in February and the second a month later - for maximum freshness.
Alcohol Percentage
11.5%
Cellar Potential
Drink now and over the next 12 months.
Producer
Domaine Saint-Lannes has been owned by the Duffour family since 1955, with Michel Duffour at the helm since 1973. What makes Duffour's wines stand out from the crowd is his strict viticultural practices; in what is a very fertile region, heavier pruning results in more concentrated grapes - achieving the desire quality in the finished product.
Food Match
Seafood would make a perfect match - try a crab salad, perhaps spicy squid or prawns.
Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
