Cantina Colli Euganei, Prosecco Spumante Extra Dry

Italy, Veneto

One sip of this frothing, gulp-able wine shows why Prosecco is so irresistibly popular. This wine is straw yellow in colour with youthful hues and a fine, persistent mousse. On the nose the aromas are fresh and fruity, a blend of lemon, apple and pear, with white blossom hints. It is soft and lively on the palate without being aggressive.

Origin

The volcanic soils of the Colli Euganei ensure low vigour, which helps restrain the Glera variety's natural exuberance. As a result, the wines here have a lovely purity and depth on the palate, complementing rather than competing with the Ca' Morlin Prosecco.

Grape Variety

100% Glera

Glera is the grape variety used in the production of Prosecco sparkling wine. The fruits for this wine come from vineyards in the natural reserve of Colli Euganei. The vineyards are composed of a mix volcanic, calcareous and clay soils. The vines are trained with the Double Guyot training system.

The grapes were cold pressed and fermented in pressurised temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve their aromatic qualities. The wine was bottled under pressure so that it remained 'spumante', or sparkling.
