Origin
Fruit was sourced principally from their Lenswood vineyard. The Adelaide Hills has experience something of a revival over the last few decades; the area now boasts over 95 producers and 4000 hectares of vineyard, generally regarded as one of Australia's most exciting cool climate areas. Surrounded by many of the traditional wine growing areas of Australia, the region's altitude means it experiences cooler temperatures by some 4-8 degrees. Therefore, the cool, dry summer and autumn ripening conditions help produce the desired composition, concentration, flavours and balance in the grapes.
Grape Variety
100% Chardonnay.
The M3 Chardonnay is sourced mainly from the Lenswood vineyard from handpicked fruit. 2014 was a lovely vintage with reduced yields and grapes harvested in ideal autumn conditions. The wine was all barrel fermented in a mix of new, one and two year old French barrels. Natural yeast ferment was encouraged and partial malolactic means there is only a touch of butteriness and refreshing acidity.
